Can someone confirm there isn't going to be a to-do list in Lion? This is ridiculous!
Before I scare everyone, maybe I need to get my facts straight... is there one? I certainly couldn't find any on the iOS version, which is why I bought a program called Todo (by Appigo) to handle that functionality on my iPad. Since I'm on the go far more often than I'm at my desk, this is where I've been keeping my to-do items. That and Google Calendar.
So I guess what I'm really asking for is integrated to-do list support on the iOS calendar.

I would be really disappointed to see a metal backing like iPod Touch has. My previous iPods from the past are so jacked up on the backside with scratches and dents. I know I'm not alone with this.
I'd prefer if the iPhone retained a glass backing like on the iPhone 4; I think it's just so sexy. But if they were going to move to metal I'd prefer an iPad-style backing.
I really hope they don't adopt the shiny InstaScratch backing, that would suck bad.

Disgusting.
I wouldn't mind this UI when iCal is toggles to full screen, but it just looks wrong next to everything else, and totally out of place. I seriously hope they reconsider. Seriously.

Since I don't have a "Family Pack": Could you have a look at the license and check whether it would allow installing on three Macs plus in a virtual machine on two of these Macs for a total of five copies?

sounds great. But I assume you don't work from 7 am until 9 pm 3 days per week :p
look. I'm not trying to make excuses. I'm not THAT out of shape. I do bikram yoga 4 times per week and walk a lot. I just can't be as extensive about it as I was in my youthful years. I'm very healthy but I do need to drop 20ish lbs. per doctors orders. I've completely cut out any sugar drinks other than water and a few organic smoothies and an occaional glass of wine here and there. But at my age and with my busy schedule it's just not as easy as it was when I was 25. Not an excuse, just a simple fact.
now what this woman is doing is downright absurd. She is probably not intelligent enough to even completely comprehend the damage she is doing, or just doesn't care, which is worse.
Hey yoga is something I want to add more of. I attended some sessions last year, but I'm looking to try the hot yoga soon. I actually work long hours most days b/n the kids and the business BUT I can take time off during the day to do my thang. I hear ya - just know I'm only trying to motivate :)

I originally waited for the white version (back when it was only delayed until "late summer".) but once September rolled around, I just decided to wait until the 5 came out. With the rumors of the 5 being delayed until fall, I might have to seriously consider some backup plans. I'd prefer to stick with an iPhone, but the 3GS is getting long in the tooth and I will not sign a contract for outdated hardware.

why do people buy the video ipod with its tiny screen when there are other, better, video players out there already?
I have one of these (http://www.cowonamerica.com/products/cowon/a2/) and its fantastic.
IMHO, both Apple and Microsoft will have to go some way to beat the COWON A2.
I know,
A) people use the iPod video for Music first, thats why its "iPod video" not the "Video iPod". The video feature is only a bonus.
B) you can use the iTMS with the iPod video
C) Its $120 more than the iPod
D) Who the hell is COWON?!? - It's sounds like one of those "Simpsons brands" like Sorny.
When the REAL Video iPod comes out, this will be a collectable* item like a Beta VCR.
*By "Collectable" I mean - un-resell-able.

The entire Android platform only generates 1 billion dollars per year in revenue for Google.
On the flip side, the iOS platform generates 1.4 billion dollars per quarter through the iTunes store for Apple.
Google hasn't found a way to significantly capitalize on Androids market share and that is a major loss. Hell, Google could take over the other 30% of the market held by RIM/ect. and the yearly Android revenue would still be below Apples quarterly revenue for the iOS platform.
Obviously Google has the same opinion as other Android fans... marketshare is king.
Although... in the business world... cash is king.

I can see how simple gestures could be recognized as the various clicks that you would normally do, so I don't think this would be an issue.
yeah, i thought about the same thing, but unless it is pulled right i think it will be a grat idea gone bad. i cant wait to see it tough, cuz apple always comes up with some ingenious method of doing things. they're probably going to have something cool and easy to use, because thats one of the main things the iPod is known for.

It's my Birthday before Christmas. Next Friday, 5th November. The ex-Missus is getting me the new BlazBlue

The Apple TV 2 is selling well because it offers a lot of features in a small package for a small price.
Creating a new AppleTV within a TV is not practical. It has nothing to do with whether or not Apple could do it well.
You are not going to get people who just purchased a TV in the last 2 years to replace it simply to have AppleTV embedded within the TV when they can buy a $99 box. And people shopping for a TV are likely to opt for having the AppleTV puck + a TV without the feature built in. People know that these devices will be upgraded and they will end up replacing the internal AppleTV with an external of the next version in a few years. So why bother? Remember when the gimmick was to have the VHS and/or DVD built in? Are people now clamoring for Blu-ray built in? No. People get it. Keep the devices separate so they can be mixed and matched and failure of one component doesn't mean replacing all.
Its just not going to happen. There will be and AppleTV 3 someday I'm sure. But not a TV with AppleTV built in.
