The iPad has already blown away the "Apple makes overpriced stuff myth" out of the water. If you are still clinging on to this, let it go and find another useful argument.
Most of the products in Apple's line up are competitively priced or more affordable than its competitors...and don't compare iMac's to desktop boxes it's an all-in-one a different form factor.
Apple makes insane profits because their products sell...in extraordinary numbers not because they are overpriced. Fact is if Apple only makes income because of the premium, people will not continue to buy them if they don't work well.
If you want to dispute what I said, try making your own product, design a pretty logo for it and sell it at a premium. See how that works out for you.
Well said, but even if this iVisual was to come out, Apple is not going to bring out just a TV its going to be much more and I can't imagine what that could be. Most people even today just don't have the internet needed to really push something Apple would want to get into when it comes to the TV that is why the Apple TV is still a hobby for Apple.
That said maybe they are looking to see what Google does with their Gigabyte fiber deployment. If we started to see real speeds something like a 4k apple tv could become a reality. Give me that and retianal display and drop all the 3d gimmick, I just don't really care for it.

I want to see a Thunderbolt dock.
Thunderbolt in on one side.
On the other side, USB, eSATA, Firewire 800, Displayport out (for monitors), audio in/out, gigabit ethernet. Maybe even have space inside for an internal hard drive or two.
This way, when you get home and want to use your laptop at your desk with external monitor, keyboard, etc.. just plug in two cables. Thunderbolt and power.
This would be so awesome, and would pretty much eliminate the need for many of us to have a desktop machine.

It's not a marginal increase. The Sandy Bridge 1.4Ghz ULV (expected to be in the new 11") is 40% faster than the C2D LV 1.86Ghz chip that's currently in the base 13" in some benchmarks.

I believe icerabbit was referring to a feature to restore an item to its original location once putting it in the trash. Windows has this feature in the recycle bin and it's a handy little feature.
This isn't to do with Time Machine as the user has not yet deleted the item from the Trash and the system.
If so, that's a feature Macs had up until OS 9 (it was called Put Away) and it was nice--I'd be glad to have it back. Undo usually meets this need for me, but not always. (I think Put Away also worked for files you dragged onto the desktop.)

I'm talking about portable music players that store music with a hard drive or flash memory that are NOT the Apple iPod models. In that case, it's only the higher-end players that support the AAC format, unless you buy Sony's current Walkman line of portable music players.
And I'll add/paraphrase from those who defend Apple to the end.
The average consumer doesn't want to think about formats and codecs - they just want to download a song and listen to it on whatever device they want to.

And a little pat in the back as I just took the #8 spot on the team. Watch out this week #7! After it gets more tricky and WhiteRabbit is coming behind faaaaast...

Well, I actually didn't have a problem with any version of XP, even before I had installed XP2. The first releases of OSX were pretty hellish for me. Panther was fine; then I installed Tiger and I was back in beta land, which is when I decided to move the business-related stuff back to XP and just do the fun stuff on OSX. Fortunately Apple released a fix a few weeks after they released Tiger.
Well, I don't think they've really done that much. They've mashed a few extra look and feels into the UI, added dashboard (and I'm not even sure they invented that), Automator (wich I really should try out). Apart from that, the OS is pretty much the same as it was when it was released (though a lot more stable obviously).
It's an excellent piece of work, but it certainly should be cheaper because when you get right down to it, they didn't actually have to write it from scratch.

Is is just me, have Emilio and Martin been a bit quiet over this whole fiasco?
Martin criticized his son on the CNN story, but declined to elaborate on specifics concerning the show and the fued with Lorre.
As time goes on, we will see both sides and finally assume all players here are ego maniacs. :)

Any idea where the best place for a black 16 wifi would be? I think that's all I really need, no 3g and i'll only have apps, maybe a movie here or there when traveling, no? Brea is the closest to me but it sounds like a battlefield, i'd prefer a Best Buy since I have giftcards but my recent time spent there makes me feel like i'd rather spend the money in gift cards to not have to go there again.
Or just do what I did. Buy one of whatever they have, and trade for the 16 WiFi and cash.

How can you tell how many cores its using?
With top in the command line or with activity monitor (utilities/activity monitor); you can see how many cores are running.

Apples moving forward, kind of neat after all the years of stagnation. 2 Big updates in 1 year vs a minor hiccup after 1 year. This is good stuff.

Interesting, and good news--surprised it took this long. Although the quoted article seems to show a bit of a misunderstanding about how the mouse actually works--yes, some people aren't comfortable with the way it detects clicks, but it has to do with the touch sensors, not "fat buttons".
