The GSMArena article is wrong there. It is true that the F700 was officially "introduced in Feb 2007", but it was already shown at the IFA fair in Berlin in autumn 2006.

does this still have lag/freezing issues?
I know when lion beta was first released it would lag and freeze a lot! also it was very unstable, 80% of the apps would crash constantly.

Wow, this could be huge.
First of all, it looks like this is a using pre-built string. And from my quick research, this glitch is being listed for all "Universal" apps.
My guess is this is referring to a future touch-screen Mac.

Wow! That is thin, almost too thin. I would be afraid to drop this thing or even press it to my face too hard. Moving the screen out to edge may result in a lot of broken units.

Of course there is. iOS runs on two currently available Apple smartphone models: 3GS and 4. The iOS that runs on these phones is sufficiently different in feature sets from the iOS that runs on Tablets, media consumption devices, and Apple TVs:
-Larger resolution on tablets
-Communications handled separately - No phone app or visual voicemail on Tablet or iPod Touch
-No installable apps on Apple TV
I think you already understand the differences. You just would like to lump everything together so that it seems that Apple still has dominant marketshare.
Pretty disingenuous use of statistics, if you ask me..
You are honestly trying to act as if slight hardware and software features and differences make it a completely different platform, regardless of whether or not it has an effect on applications? Seriously? That's like saying Android devices from different manufacturers can't be lumped together because of different resolutions or skins.
EDIT: Also, I was only mentioning that AppleTV technically runs iOS, not that it should be officially be counted.
The only thing disingenuous is to try and compare an entire platform against a single device in a platform and call it fair.

I'm not sure Apple would be able to add real value to a TV here.
They always seem to choose less than stellar hardware and then add great Software for the Value Add and high profit margins.
So I'm happy with my 2nd Gen Apple. TV as is.
A TV is big commitment. I don't want to be flipping that every year.
Besides its heavy and awkward.

if charts can do basic formulas (using mostly only simple arithmetic), pages has a word processing mode, grammar check, and integrates with a thesaurus, wikipeida, spotlight, and google, office is immediately deleted from my system:D
one problem:
will eductional institutions really want the wikipedia integration? my school is certainly not big on wikipedia. if apple could strike a deal with MacKiev, World Book software could come with iWork and be integrated with pages and the whole suite in general.

The ballooning lines sucks. It happened at the Spectrum too. We were talking about how the line was getting wider the closer it got to 5pm. Obviously many people holding a place for others. It sucks but that's the way these things go.
It's interesting as it seems like the common theme here is that there weren't enough of the at&t models to go around. Someone in our line said that a local at&t store only had 10 iPads in stock for the line.

To be fair, the brushed metal interface first debuted in 1999 with Quicktime 4.0. Compared to the horrendous user interfaces of the time period, that looks amazing. It is sad though that it took them until leopard to get rid of it...

As I expected no revision to form factor, just a chip bump. Santa Rosa will be when they make them black and have the magnetic latch and easy access HD :).

Have you see the "gestures" video? It would be done by physically touching the iPod. No camera needed.
Did ye all not read the report. The whole point is that it is a "Proximity sensor" . That it can detect your gestures while "spaced away" from the ipod. This would be no big deal if it required rubbing your greasy fingers all over the display!!

If this patent is anything close to reality, Apple may be prepping something much bigger than an iPod, something closer to a full-featured OS X tablet computer. You'll be running a full-featured version of iTunes, not just the simplified UI of the iPod:
