If you were smart enough, you would have started a new thread and not use a thread titled 'USCIS - Annoncement its official'. You very well know the implications of raking up such sensational threads and if you do not, you should, going forward. Nothing personal bro. And hope your situation improves.
Also, if it helps here's my story: I'm a 4.0 GPA grad from one of the best univs in the US. I have been in this country for 12 years now with more than 10 years of work experience. However, my title still says that I'm a programmer. Sucks right? Yeah, others around us will grow, prosper and succeed in life. Feels bad to be in our shoes. This is a choice that each one of us has made. However, that does not mean we vent out our frustrations on a public forum. Even if we do, we should use proper means. My 2c :)

This procedure is called follow to join where your i-485 will be approved and your wife will receive your green card after 1 year in India. She has to go to a US consulate in India for an interview before receiving her immigrant visa which converts to green card when she enters USA automatically. Pls pm me your email id.

My husband had only signed the offer letter, which did not talk about any employement contracts. There was a condition to pay some money if i left compnay before 1 year, which is not valid anymore for him.
So what you suggest what should be my bext step.

Very easy. No need to file new 485 or CP. Interfile, by sending the copy of new 140 approval notice to your pending 485. Requset them to consider your latest approved Eb2-140 as a underlying immigrart visa petition for your pending 485. Ofcourse, you need a latest employment offer letter from the original sponser when requesting the change.
However, this may require aggressive follow up with USCIS.

Do you still have the I 94 which came with I 797A ?? if have that just give that i 94

Yes I believe that the I797 should have the latest I94 also try going to the nearest international airport or the one you are travelling from, the customs and immigration there may be able to help, they do issue replacement I94's. I have had this done once for my wife we had to get a correction done on the date as the IO's handwriting was not clear its a quick process. Make sure that you staple both I94's and surrender both of them. Even without the I94 you will be allowed to board the flight, the airline staff just detach it if there is one on your passport.

So is it safe to assume that the extended H1B will not get invalidated even though the basis of extension was approved I-140 + pending I-485 and later the I-485 got denied.
Going to the original question. The H1B doesnt get invalidated.
The rules and available interpretations and memos talks only about the condition to "grant the extension". No where it mentioned a condition to invalidate an already granted extension.

Since I did not know how to write my name in my native alphabet, I askd my wife to write it for me. Is this an issue? Is there any requirement that one must write the name in native alphabet in one's own handwriting?

I'm surprised that with a November 2001 PD that you are getting an interview already, since EB-3 is still retrogressed--EB3 world is only at July 1 2001 for June 2006
The PD fot EB3 is April 07 2001 I think. Anyway.... there should not be a cause for concern. The reason you got an AOS interview is that USCIS is adjudicating cases pending Visa availability. If there had been a concern then there would have been another RFE on it. You should be happy that some progress has taken place.

I am confused by why the priority dates for EB2 is worse than EB3. Could someone explain?
It's because of retrogression. Example....
Case 1:
John applied in EB3 in 2002, had his labor/140 cleared.
John changed companies in 2005, now was eligible for EB2. Used older priority date.
Now John has 2002 PD in EB2.
Case 2:
BEC labors coming through.
Case 3:
Non-RIR cases getting approved (note that non-RIR labor takes a long time, ~4-5 yrs)
Whether to choose EB-2 or EB-3 is hard.
Fresh blood coming on H1 will typically be EB3. But by the time their visa numbers
become available, they might move to EB2. Or maybe they won't if EB2 worsens. Right
now I think it's a fair game between the 2 categories (IMHO).
If 140 premium starts again, then it might get crazy. Apply for new PERM (choose the least retrogressed category), apply for 140.....all in 5-6 months. Now port your PD from
whatever earlier 140 you had.

Thank you very much for the insight of my issue. Just want to inform you that my employer(who intitiated the transfer now) are the employer and the client for me. Hopefully I might not get any RFE and as you said if I get the reciept number after 14 or 15 calendar days and update the result of petition in a week or so, that would be great.

Yes it will be a while before it reaches Jan 03 (my guessestimate about 2 years). I wanted to get some idea on why EB2 got stuck around Jan 03 when it flew past Apr 01 deadline.
Even if EB3 moves slowly now it would in a year will be in mid 2002 or latter. And then in Mid 2003 in two years. which would cover my priority date. However if it got stuck to some other date (like EB2 in Jan 2003) it would be diffrent story.

Instead of posting questions here, PLEASE send it to the email (legal_advise@immigrationvoice.org) with proper format (as mentioned by IV member "sertasheep" in starting of this thread like name, city/state, question....) so that it will be easier for IV team to compile your questions. I hear they will try again to attach the provisions to other bills. Hopefully we will jump in too. Kudos to iv's efforts. If I can sit pretty for the moment with a 485 filed it's thanks to IV. Please keep going.

Second, you are obligated to take up employment in your field within a reasonably short time after your green card is approved. I would think that if you had already started a new semester, you could wait until it ended to resume your employment, but not much beyond that.
