How come most of the 2006 PD holders getting approved? I do not have any grudge against who have 2006 PD and got their AOS approved. I am just wondering as to what is making USCIS to choose only 2006 PD ? Definitely, the low hanging fruits theory does not seem to be working here. Anybody has any idea about that ? I am just frustrated.

I-485 can be rejected if filed with incomplete initial evidence.
Folks, it is the time for us to be more careful than even to make sure that our lawyer files I-485 correctly. With there mistake, we can really get screwed up. All they can say one word �Sorry�.
It happened to me while filing for H-1 extension, I got only one year extension, based on Labor pending whereas my I-140 was approved at that time, they refilled at no cost to me with 3 year extension.
Here in I-485, refilling will not be possible, since by the time we get the receipt notice, the date might have moved back already.
I have not yet received the originals supporting my BC.............. is it a problem............ everything else i have but still waiting for the affidavits............. can you please elaborate on this............

I had absolutely no problems, it's all smooth as long as you carry all the supporting docs. I did have a shitty experience at JFK -- there are few morons at the POE you can't do much about.

Wife's EAD changed to "card production ordered", after a tiresome wait of almost 4 months. This was after 2 expedite faxes and 1 infopass.
My wife went for her biometrics today and what a surprise, her date of birth on the system was wrong.
She only had DL on her and no passport. So, the ASC staff took her biometrics but refused to correct her DOB, claiming that passport was needed.
So, we called up USCIS and upon description of the problem,were immediately transferred to level 2. Level 2 looked at the cases and confirmed that DOB was wrong on I-485. It was correct in I-765 and I-131. She said that the only way to correct it was to take infopass and present passport and DL.
It is now more or less clear that DOB mismatch has caused her EAD to be stalled for so long.I have already got my EAD.
Moral of the story : take passport for FP, infopass, etc. all the time.

USCIS might be processing the applications in the order of recipt date
(need not adjudicate the application which is based on priority date)
So, i think USCIS can process applications without priority date being current.
I think this is correct. They can have the app reviewed and mark it approvable if it has all the necessary documents, then when the PD is current (meaning visa number available) they will pull it off the shelf, allocate visa number to it and send out the approval notice.
That's my guess, I have not seen their SOP (std operating procedure).

I filed 485 on July 18 in NSC. I called USCIS on Oct 16 (exactly the 90th day), early in the morning. 1-800-375-5283(1,2,2,6,2,2,1). The lady who picked up said they have introduced a new system to raise a 'Service Request' for those who are waiting for more than 90 days for check clearance. She siad that mine was the first case she was entering into the system. She keyed in my details and gave me a Service Request # and said that an agent will be assigned to my case within two days to look for my application. On Oct 18th, I found that my checks were cleared. But the rec # are not showing on online yet. So, pls call USCIS and raise a service req if you don't see any activity yet, it worked for me, though the rec # s not updated online yet.
I found that my appln was moved from NSC to TSC, as my rec # starts with SRC-08.

HI,
My company filed my Perm on Jun 4th 08 but it is not yet approved. My H1B is in its 6th year and will end in July 09. I was wondering if I would get an extension , even if my Perm gets denied for some reason.
I just want to prepare for the worst case. Can any one please help with some information.
What are my options to get a H1B extension.

As per immigration-law.com..Senate may work on CIR in March 07 and hand it over to House by APril 07....House may however sit on it for years on end...

Leahy, reportedly set the CIR as one of the top agenda of the Judiciary Committee for March 2007 and the Democratic leaders reportedly determined to pass the CIR by April 2007 and quickly send it over to the House for its prompt action. How beautiful the agenda of the new Congress.
We want to watch carefully how closely the leaders of the House and Senate will follow through the agenda. In a way, from the perspectives of this immigration legislation agenda, we are relieved that the Congress was over with the most serious road block to the Congress, to wit, rebuke of Bush's resurge in Iraq.

How easy or difficult is it.
Is it any different in Chennai or in Hyd.
I heard different things like some employer memo or something. Is it related to stamping.
If it is, please share your receent stamping experiences.

If your documents are in order then there is really no need to worry. The employer memo you are talking about is about employer - employee relationship. If a worker on H1 visa is working at a client site where his / her employer do not directly control the day to day activity then that person will be denied H1.
In plain terms if you are on staff augmentation project and report to a client manager who controls your day to day assignment and your H1 employer only runs your payroll then there will be issues when you go for stamping with a possibility of your visa getting denied.
