You cannot officially resize the NTFS format, although apparently with the right tools some people have successfully done it. I tried, everything was in tact, but it wouldn't boot.

I wonder if the Shuffle will ever have more than 2 gigabytes. It's form factor seems to limit it, not because there'll never 2 gigabyte storage that small (there will), but because you can't select songs. I wonder how useful a 10 gig Shuffle would be. (Maybe it would be useful... since I don't listen to music on "shuffle" very often, it doesn't appeal to me, so maybe I'm missing something.)

But on the other hand, what can Apple do? They won't be able to make it much smaller (still needs controls and headphone jack).

That leaves them with the only option being to make it cheaper.

Feature-wise, I guess wireless syncing, as it gets smaller the dock is going to be smaller and smaller (the current version looks flimsy, like it wouldn't stand up or something.) But there's not much you can do with something with no screen.

thats an intense background and i really like the dock icons but how do you know which is which? and where did you get them?

I just associated each one to an app and memorized it. They are slightly modified versions of these icons here (http://davidchen.deviantart.com/art/Etom-Project-White-65264754).

My takeaway is this:

Section 222 (http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/uscode47/usc_sec_47_00000222----000-.html)of the Communications Act deals with carriers keeping user information private, including location, but of course that has nothing to do with phone OS makers such as Apple and Google.

Now I suspect that Congress will want to bring non-carriers under their wing as well.

Smartphones used to be a pretty sleepy backwater area, where the press rarely bothered much. Now they're daily headline news, under extra scrutiny.

At this point, I couldn't really care less about Blu Ray or HD-DVD. I'd be more excited if Apple included Lightscribe or equivalent capability in their drives. Unlabeled discs are piled high on my desk.
