1 year from now, only EB3-Indians with PDs of 2001-2006 will hang on the IV website. Everybody else(or atleast 99%) will be gone...
We will need help renewing our EADs and AP each year forever...and will seek answers on wague rules and regulations USCIS/DHS will keep putting in

Hi People,
I getting even more confused:mad:
My status - AOS, H1B expired, staying on EAD.
Ap is valid until the middle of November 2008.
I have to travel abroad end re-enter more than 2 times from now to the AP expiry date
..
USCIS sent me 2 exact copies of AP - is that mean that only one stamp per each re-entry implying that I may travel out of country only twice until AP exparation end re-enter twice only???
Or there allowed more than one stamp on AP paper - using one AP per multiple entries??
Sorry, I am confused
When it is three copies (Nebraska has been giving three), on first travel, one copy goes to airlines, the 2nd copy goes to POE and 3rd copy remains with AP holder (the 3rd copy must be stamped at POE). On subsequent travels give a photocopy (of 3rd) to airlines, ask POE to make a copy (of 3rd) for themselves and keep 3rd (after getting subsequents stamp).
When it is two copies (Texas has been giving two), on first travel, give a photocopy to airlines the 1nd copy goes to POE and 2nd copy remains with AP holder (the 2nd copy must be stamped at POE). On subsequent travels give a photocopy (of 2nd) to airlines, ask POE to make a copy (of 2nd) for themselves and keep 2nd (after getting subsequents stamp).

My gully, I should have issued personal cheque instead of asking the atty. to use his cheques. I could then saved the trouble of asking the atty. everynow and then.
I still have 20 days left before I could get my RN based on the rate of receipting recently.

Hello Gurus,
I am EB3 India with PD September 2002.
After all these years of endless waiting I am called for
an interview at the local office in Philadelphia
in Nov 26th 2007.
Here are my details:
Labour Applied: September 2002
Labour approved: September 2003
I-140/I-485 Applied: April 2004
I-140 Pproved: August 2004
Got married: August 2005
Applied I-485 for Wife: June 2007
Current Status of Wife: H1-B
Countelss EADs and APs for me and a recent EAD approval
for my wife with her AP still pending and status is still H1-B.
In the beginning of this year, I resigned from the
company who was the original sponsorer of my GC.
I then started contracting on hourly basis and worked for
a decent hourly rate for the first half of this year.
Finally I got a full time offer with decent salary and
benefits and took the job. I started working for this
job - remotely and also took up another contracting job
on an hourly basis (Got greedy as I waited too long :-))
and started working on both these jobs.
The point is - it is a different technology and not even
remotely connected to my original job where my Labour
cert was applied and approved. I was a developer
back then and with all the experience, I couldn't
continue as the pay was too low and no growth at all.
I can have a letter of future employment that
states that I have on offer in the same technology
in which my original labour was applied and approved
and that is not a problem at all.
Please advise me on how to go about it. I can
afford to pay and take the best attorney with me
to the interview - some one who is very well known in
the Philadelphia area.
Any inputs/advise are really appreciated.
IMP: Icing on the cake - my PD was mentioned wrong in
the interview notice - it says april 2004 !!
That was when my i-140 was applied and not labour.
My labour was applied in September 2002 !!!
Advise on this is also appreciated.
Thanks a lot.

Its pathetic that nobody is looking at this thread. IV should not be wasting its time and effort on people who are ungrateful and do not value it. They are more happy picking up fights with each other and spending time on threads that do not do any help

Hi,
I just checked online.. my status is showing follwoing message:
(This I-485 was a denied case earlier. But suddenly they Transferred my case in last month and now I see this status today).
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Case reopened or reconsidered based on USCIS determination, and the case is now pending.
We reopened this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS on June 29, 2009, and are now reviewing our earlier decision. We also mailed you a notice describing the next steps in the process. Please follow any instructions on this notice. Our review should be completed within 30 days. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service.
Can someone please shed some light on this.

Aah_GC: Lawyer might not have received it from USCIS otherwise irrational would not be writing it here :) Many who filed during July 07 fiasco have not received the 485 receipt notices (lost in mail) from USCIS.
irrational: For EAD renewal, you can use your biometric notice as a proof of filing for I-485 to extend EAD and you make sure give correct A# on the form , with this USCIS should be able to pull your records. Also write a cover letter stating that you have not received the 485 receipt notice from USCIS, thats it. Nothing to worry, Go ahead and file without 485 receipt notice copy.
Sure, guess I was a bit irrational :)!

PD Transfer can even be done @ i-485 stage too, but that's not as straight a process as porting it at the I-140 stage. But technically, it can be done at I-485 too.

Q : What if I need advance parole? NEW
We anticipate completing the receipting of the I-131 documents by the end of October 2007. Due to the heavy volume of cases, we are encouraging customers to wait until the end of October before inquiring about their case. If special circumstances exist and advance parole is needed quickly, please make an InfoPass appointment to visit your local USCIS office or call the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283. When you visit the local district office, be prepared to explain the need for urgent travel, provide the U.S. Postal Service tracking number associated with the original application filed, and the date the application was received at the Service Center where you filed.

You can apply for SSN now. You don't need a job to get SSN because you have EAD.

USCIS will give you 2 years EAD if there is no visa available for you i.e. if your PD is currently retrogressed, although we got 2 years EAD in August 08 when our PD was current, which gave me a fair enough reason to believe the "no visa left for EB2 I/C" news that was floating around then :)
What conditions to be met for getting 2 years renewal? Anyone...
I am about to send my package to lawyer for AP/EAD renewal, URGENT!

Please see page 8-10 of the I765 form instructions for more information. It is clearly written that it has to go where your area falls under for the (c) 9 category.
http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-765instr.pdf
If you are in Boston, it should go to TSC irrespective of which center your 485 is pending.
