I jumped on a month of Gold for $1. Close enough to free. Amazon also has the 12 months at $35 with the free super saver shipping. This thing is so gonna break me.

I wonder why I often see signs like this in stores ...
To be honest I have never seen that in the UK or in Finland.

As someone who used to work at an Apple Store, I can say with certainty there are at least some Apple Store employees that wish someone would walk in and ask them out :p

You get a nice, out of the box experiance with OS X.2, but is it worth it for the higher price and slower performance. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Again, you are living in the past. Macs are now fast and a very good deal. Premiere is not a pro video app and is not optimized for the Mac, Imovie(a free app) and Final cut render much faster. I still have premiere but is very slow on the Mac and I won't upgrade. You can do audio and video on any computer but when you do it to make your living you have to look at the whole picture and that means looking at everything pcs included, and right now the Mac is a better deal overall.

Excellent job my good man! Thanks for the Fidget (folding widget)! Now for all those Panther lackeys, you in fact CAN run widgets if you are at version 10.3.9. Check out Amnesty Widget Browser (http://www.mesadynamics.com/amnesty.htm). You don't get the cool dashboard effect, but you can play with widgets. Fold if ya got 'em!

I worked for what was then called Cingular and was in the New York section, and I can honestly tell you New Yorkers are a breed of their own. We got calls constantly about dropped signals, but when probed it was because they were in a subway. Towers are abundant in the NYC area so it is amazing they have discontinued them.
New Yorkers probably and appreciate the iPhone more than anyone else who has them.

Yeah, cuz that never happens. ;)
Actually, I just wanted to point out to everyone that the G4 uses a 167 MHz FSB, and the new G3 is CAPABLE of a 200 MHz FSB. The P4s use a Quad pumped 133 FSB (533 effective, kinda). The "old" one used a Quad 100 (400 effective). Now the Celeron uses the 400. But they are HOT, and take A LOT of energy to run.
The AMDs used a 100 MHz DDR FSB for the old Athlons and the Durons (200 kinda, because it's rising and falling), and DDR 133 for the "newer" Athlons (which they call 266). No CPU yet uses a 333 FSB, DDR or otherwise. AMD will soon, but it's Vaporware for now. And if DDRSDRAM only adds about a 5-20% increase over SDRAM, even when used properly, do the math.
Do you really think they're getting the full 533 or 266?
Just thought I'd clear that up.
I would go off about MHz myths and pipeline stages and other boring things that are often misunderstood, but I'm tired. And I'd rather not put myself to sleep. I just hope Apple can win oer the newbies with something cheap and easy, and keep the professionals with something fast enough to at least keep paces in some stuff with a similarly configured WinTel.
OS X is great, but if I can render something in 1/3 the time for 1/3 the price, what do you think I'm gonna choose?

Am I missing something here? The whole point of a dock adaptor is so that you can have a dock for your laptop ready and waiting for you on your desk where you can have all of your TBolt, USB 3, USB 2 and displays all sitting ready and waiting. The presence of a dock adaptor doesn't necessarily mean that the laptop itself won't have it's own USB2/3, TBolt ports or whatever. No docking computer has ever got rid of all of the on-laptop ports in the past and Apple would be shooting themselves in the foot if they did. It would be a total non-starter.

Go to system preferences. Open International. Drag British English to be first in the list of languages. If it's not in the list, click the Edit button to add it.
Good stuff. :)
I never thought it would be a system-level setting...

:( I am starting to think why do i have a mac, as i need so many dam adapters.
Exacly what a friend of mine said when he got his new macbook and found out he needed to buy new adapters since in the 3 years they removed many (such as the analogue audio ports)

I was at the Apple Store yesterday and I placed my Black iPhone side-by-side (on a flat surface) with White model they have on display, and my friend and I could not tell the difference is thickness.
I did the same with 2 other White models and had the same result, so I was rather baffled as to what the bloggers were reporting. So Phil Schiller was not lying, thanks Phil.
