Dividends, yes that would be a good idea, what with $10 billion in cash on hand. Microsoft finally decided that their cash horde was becoming a bit of an embarrassment and declared one.
Seriously, the more I think about it, the more upset I am that they aren't offering one. I mean, what the heck are they goint to do with $10 billion? Even the most aggressive expansion and R&D strategy doesn't justify holding onto that. And it would be a great way to offset any damage from the options fiasco. And it would boost the shares 5% (at least) on announcement. They USED to pay a dividend (1987-1995). It's time to bring it back!

I think you'll find movie distrubution rights outside of USA have the same problems as TV SHOW downloads outside of USA. In other words we wont get any lol, in much the same way as we cant download from the new Amazon movie download servers in the UK. I dont know who actually runs the european side of Apple but they want sacking lol, over a year and no new content outside of USA lol. I'll still follow the feeds though lol cos I'm sad like that :)
What I mean is that TV channel companies buy exclusive rights to show shows, you will find (in the UK anyway) shows like lost don't go on sale on DVD till after they have been shown on TV. Highstreet shops can't buy the rights to sell DVD movies exclusively. However, I am sure there are plenty of legal issues Apple will have to work around.

Not just "why isn't what I want to do working?" but "I think, given these conditions, and this code, I should get this result for these reasons." This way you have to document your assumptions, code, expectations and reasoning.
Often times, just going through that process will lead you to the answer yourself or with a gentle nudge from someone else.
THAT is where links I posted earlier are headed and you refuse obstinately to go.
If you want to take a dump in the pool because "that's the way you like it" that's fine. Don't expect anyone else to like it.

If I recall correctly (prob. not) Apple use to have the keynote live on TV that people could pick up with old c-band sat. recievers. What ever happend to that?

Just like switching between tabs using ctrl-tab in Safari and other web browsers I think it would be good to be able to switch between subpanes using the same keyboard shortcut.

Personally, I would be surprised if they didn't eventually use AMD CPU's.
1. Digg had an article on AMD's line of upcoming CPU's which are CPU's and GPU's on one die. Given Apple's history of pushing more and more onto the video cards, this new line seems perfect for Apple.

Thank you for providing those interesting links and slides of AMDs future roadmap, this should go well with Anandtech article (http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2379&p=12) and the fact that AMD just released a stream processor board (http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/11/14/amd_stream_processor/) to show all the people that CELL processor is the blueprint for future processor development and well ahead of it's time. It will require new programming techniques and algorithms but we will also see new levels of performance. And yes, I am a CELL processor fan boy, 5 years from now everyone will be without even realizing it. :p
EDIT: Ah I almost forgot, AMD and IBM have a close relationship, they have worked and are working on many projects so I guess there might be some connection in it afterall.

I guess it depends what you call a "feature." They're not user-facing, and Apple didn't advertise them as features, but frankly I don't see how they're not features, even if they're under-the-hood. Anyway, here (http://arstechnica.com/apple/reviews/2009/08/mac-os-x-10-6.ars/)'s 22 pages worth of new and improved stuff.
I know they made lots of under the hood stuff, but nothing that entices the consumer to upgrade. Look at 10.5 and that had lots of stuff for the consumer.
Now with the all the under the hood stuff that was changed, many of us were expecting more then just the "magic of the iPad" as they call it.

Apple made a big mistake not licensing Mac OS 22 years ago allowing clones. Otherwise Mac OS X would be now the mainstream operating system.
Now history repeats. Apple has now the oppotunity to take over and beat Windows. But for that it is absolutely essential to allow Mac OS X to run on ANY PC out there.

Most importantly, without thuggish unions, good teachers like my wife would make far more money than they do today, while the bad ones would make less or be fired.

Thankfully, people like him are willing to look at the facts and report honestly on the situation instead of pretending like the government can produce miracles out of thin air or that money grows on trees.
